Let the Music Play

Let the music play
I’ll sit here and wait
For a failing grade
Each passing day
Or an evacuation slip
Before May the 5th
Let the music play
I’ll sit here and wait
Because there’s nothing I can do
I’m stretched out up on a loom
People weaving into me
The things they want to see
And when I snap, then I am useless
Let the music play
For one more day
Before I can’t afford
Another word to say
Let the music play
Before I’m embarrassed
Forced to fail for circumstances
That I cannot control
Let the music play
I cannot face the day.
