Let the Lord Be Your Light
As I stand among my broken dreams,
And think about my failed plots and schemes.
Was it something I did wrong or just maybe it wasn’t meant to be.
Or could it be someone is guiding me?
Maybe my thoughts weren’t quite in tune,
Or maybe I simply played my hand too soon.
I don’t believe anymore that things merely happen by chance,
I think we’re called to get up and dance.
And when we try to do these things our own way,
They can get messed up is all I’m trying to say.
We have to put our faith and trust in God,
And wait for His approval, His assuring nod.
Go to Him in silent prayer,
You’ll be amazed what you find there.
If you have a burden He is the one,
To give it to, to get it done.
When you feel pressured and think there is no way out,
Turn to Jesus in this hour of doubt.
He makes our problems simply disappear,
He’ll never leave you, He’s always near.
So those things you didn’t think turned out right,
May have been blocking a blessing that was intended for you from God’s guiding light.
