Let the Lines Define
Established as the world beats me down
Not going down without a fight
I’m surviving these twelve rounds
My passion’s what I’ve found
You can hear it through every heart beat that sounds
Swimming in thoughts by the pounds
Attempts to never frown
Fighting to never drown
Seeing skylines from mountain tops
Free styling prophecies as soon as the beat drops
We’re mentally sound as we lounge on trees that are downed
Combinations and word patterns that drown out the social chatter
Talking of topics that truly matter
Conversation filled with laughter
These are the bonds that I’m after
Half a decade into a new chapter
Dreams are obvious factors when life tosses disaster
Memories I choose to capture
It’s evident when I binge write
Words to defend what’s right
I’ve put forth the effort
I can say I’ve really tried
These words are a guide for my life
Why do I not believe in god?
My dreams are too easy for him to dodge
God could be the ultimate facade
The story seems odd and robs the mind of its job
Life continues to live on
So live as one
Peace of a settled mind that fought hard to keep its design
Crafty words written on the line
Spiraling out of pages and changing the times
Stick with your goals and stay on your grind
