Let the Ground Echo

I don’t know where you are anymore,
Or if you are at all;
Your foreign words echo further,
Ageing with each new day.

But I still feel you, call you to me
In the day, in the night,
My mind knows how to replicate you,
I hope yours does the same.

Let the ground echo the way I love you.
May you taste it in the rain,
Hear it in the snow,
See it in the flowering, fruitful orchards,

So that you always know me,
Know I’m with you when I can be,
And I’m still there when I can’t.
Listen for me; birds sing for me.

What a charming way of letting someone you miss know how much you miss them --- if only they could see what you have said!! Wonderful write.

Your words are very well measured. There is just enough to draw the reader in, but the subtleties and nuances demand a bit of digging. Very compelling stuff.
