Let Summer Stay

As summer ends it just seems wrong to waste or hasten days along. Let's linger just a little more in summer's final cricket song. When nature's dressed in bright decor and frogs sing songs worth croaking for. When nights are warm then lovers take a moonlit walk upon the shore.  When days are spent in pools or lakes, And grills are filled with flavoured steaks. When state fair cotton candy's spun We'll eat until our belly aches.  When kids chase lightning bugs for fun And roam from home until they're done.  These memories we make are strong so don't too soon wish fall begun. 9.4.18 Contest:Dog Days Endure Written in Iambic Tetrameter as an interlocking rubaiyat. aaba bbcb ccdc ddad

This is a very cheery rhythmic piece of poetry with words of fun speaking to the imagination of children and summer lovers everywhere. Nostalgic imagery and happy thoughts are sprinkled within these lines making this poem a pleasure to read and review. Emile.

I love Summer 'cause of longer days and no burden of warm clothes. I like your sonnet. All the best.
