Let Me
Let me find a quiet place
High upon a fell.
Somewhere to find solitude
Where only wild things dwell.
Let me find a valley
Where people seldom go,
And walk an unmarked mountain track
That only shepherds know.
Let me sit upon a ridge,
The air beneath my feet.
Then quench my thirst in a mountain stream
With water, pure and sweet.
I want to see the sunset,
That last dimming of the day.
And above my head appearing,
A celestial array.
I want to see the sunrise
The rebirth of the light,
The mountains, bathed in sunshine
Delivered from the night.
