Lessons

do away with medals
and remembrence parades
those boys were brave
we know but look at where
it got them

reduced to line after perfect line
of white stones

immobile
glorious
exciting

to kids who havent yet learned
that bullets dont make little red holes

they

rip
smash
gouge
and drag the worlds dirt behind them
remember lads you wont get laid
no matter how good your war stories

if your dead so

melt down the medals
fuel the fire with
paper poppies
war books

And arnie films stop playin with the pipes
banging with drums

and stop writing
 poems about it
