Lessons

All we did was reminisce and drank
To keep the good times I emptied my bank
I’ll be doing things for people that don’t thank
I guess I was just too frank
But that’s the reason my boat Sank
benefits ended they left and my life was blank
Life taught me a lesson with a spank
The clock is ticking and my time is due
At first I didn’t have a clue
This is too much to chew
Who ever knew
The older you grow true friends become few
I no longer believe in a crew
Following wherever the wind blew
I finally got out of the box and grew
Now I can see beyond the view
