Less Is More - Poet I Am Not

Less is more, so they say
I am not sure what they mean by the way

Just say what you mean and mean what you say
Then your words will find a way

I just write to make myself happy
Then if someone else finds it snappy

It was worth the thought I invested
That somehow makes my words poetic

As my poetry is my distinction
I never mind if I have the wrong diction

Less is more but more is better
But who says so, well I never!

Just write me a letter
With just three words

And as long as they are all yours
They will be the best I have ever read or heard

So just keep writing
As it's not so absurd

Even if they say

I ?*** ?xx

Then I will truly believe you

Nicely done. I’m so happy you are enjoying your writing without too much worry about what anyone else thinks apart from yourself. Keep it up :-) x

Hi Elaine, so nice of you to post such a positive comment on my scribble.. As you say or picked up on though, in the main I just write for myself, although when others sometimes also enjoy my ramblings or connect as well, it feels so more worthwhile :-) Best wishes DAMO x

Less is more is from a poem by Robert Browning...1855' I believe . "Andreas de Santos" All he was referring To was simplicicity in design. The Architect Mies van Der Rohe used the lesss is more in designing buildings. Go to a search engine ENTER English proverbs. There are tons, many from the Bard, himself, there is no THEY SAY!)))) Someone said something centuries ago And we take it as truth? There is a source for all and fun to find out, I think! I did learn from your poem! Panagiota
