Less Alone
Last week you stared into my eyes
And said you felt like you knew me
Suddenly, I fell into your world,
That was overwhelmed by a sandstorm,
Debris and dust stung my eyes and made me sneeze,
I couldn’t see my hand inches from my face,
Much less the path ahead,
The only clarity I had was to journey forward,
And leave everything, especially her, behind.
My breathe caught in my mouth and I nodded
In agreement because the image of samsara inside you
Looked a lot like mine,
Except my inner visions were in pastels versus brown and white.
I left you feeling less alone.
