Lemon Tree Lime

Yellow green citrus clean lemon tree lime
In the meadow of sublime
Too easy to change your mind

Open the door to shut your heart
Being dumb to outsmart
Smile the smile finish to start

Green yellow sunny fellow
Sweetly sour girl mellows
Show your quivering spine of Jell-o

Crying out loud to laugh inside
Dancing beneath a citrus sky
Lemon tree lime with wings to fly

Lemon tree lime with wings to fly
Soaring, soaring through the citrus sky
Waving, waving bye bye bye

Waving, waving bye bye bye
Close my mind by opening my eyes
With her leaves I to shall fly
With her leaves I to shall fly

This poem makes me feel happy! I love lemons, but I love your poem even more...it's imaginative, and gives a personifcation to a lemon tree! Nicely done, Fritz~ Carrie

I hope that you will forgive me for saying this but the second stanza is really weak and I feel that you might consider exorsising it because this is a great poem. the rhyme scheme reminds me of Stevie Smith in the way that ithas an inventiveness. The imagery is great. Given the sharpness of citrus and morphing it into that of a relationship. That is a real pleasure to read.
