Legacy of Your Smile
i knew that somehow
you were not a stranger to me
that smile...unforgettable
a sense that i have known you well
a distant echo stirs deeply within my heart
for we were once dust within dust
cast unto the wind
by the hand of destiny
do you not feel as i do
is this day that stroke of irreversible fate
our ancestors once whispered to
the wizard of time
that the second would come to pass
when we would be one again
is today not that promised moment in time
it must be you
i feel your legacy within my soul
as surely as the air that i breath
i have felt the tantalizing magic
of your smile in a lifetime past
i have tasted the richness of your soft caress
there was a time my beautiful love
when everything that ever mattered to me
was witnessed within the re?ection of your green eyes
you were unforgettable then... you are unforgettable now
the memory of your gentleness
lingers like perpetual twilight
i feel your heartbeat deep within my own
you are truly her ... as if it could not be
In the space of time we call forever
there was only one of you
we have belonged...two as one throughout eternity
as surely as dusk follows the morning dawn
the legacy of your smile rests forever within my sou
i have missed you more than words could ever say
i lived lifetimes waiting for this day
