Left For Someone New

The rain pours down in sheets of grey,
As I stand here alone, my heart in decay.
The one I loved has gone away,
And left me here to face this day.

I thought our love was strong and true,
But you found someone you thought was new.
Someone better, someone good,
And now I’m left here in the rain, misunderstood.

I gave you all I had to give,
My heart, my soul, my reason to live.
But it wasn’t enough, I couldn’t compete,
With the one you left me for, so neat.

The rain keeps falling, never-ending,
As I stand here, heartbroken and pretending,
That everything’s okay, that I’m fine,
But inside I’m dying, I’m losing my mind.

How could she do this to me,
Exchange me for someone else to see?
I thought we had a love that was meant to be,
But now I see it was all just a fantasy.

The rain continues to pour down,
As I realize my heartbreak knows no bounds.
I loved you more than words could say,
But now you’re gone, and I’m left here to pay.
