Leaving Houses and Lands

After a very hard divorce and my children were all grown
and had left home, I began to pray as Isaiah, "Here am
I, Lord, send me". To my great surprise, the Lord
answered that prayer with His request to move clear
across the United States. I was 46, and was pretty
timid, even with driving to Portland, OR, let alone
across the US. But, my God was/is Faithful and
that is where I met the husband of His choice.
Leaving Houses and Lands
I have chosen to follow Jesus
wherever He has selected for me to roam,
and one day, He said, “My child come follow Me”,
so I left my earthly home.
And I packed up my few earthly possessions
and filled up my little cart,
with more joy then I had questions
flowing down deep within my heart.
Still waiting on Him for some new direction
that I know He will soon give,
because all I have is Yours, Lord
and my life for You I choose to live.
If I had it to do all over, Lord
the plan would still be the same,
my life is not my own, Master
since I called on Jesus’ name.
A walk of faith is not easy
for I do not always see,
and more times than not I follow blindly
yet, I know that You are leading me.
Now, Your call I feel stronger than ever
it means more than houses and lands,
for I’ve found life more abundantly
since I have trusted in Your guiding hand.
