Leaves will fall
Where they may.
Stones will stand.
Birds will lean into the sun
On wires
When they can.
The rusted bucket by the drain
Knows its patience well.
The buds that break a hardened bark
Will live to tell.
Morning’s air will touch
With full-on kiss
Each neighbors dog
To yield another bark
The road will touch a tire,
Say goodbye,
And leave its mark
Touch again and then
And always touch
And always then
And touch
And say goodbye
To hands and other limbs
And others
What a marvel
Is understanding
Thank you for all of this
Again
And again
And always again.
