Notes About The Poem

Leaves Talking

When the rain comes in the Fall to the trees,
The leaves say to each other, “Oh God, no please!”
The wind picks up and they are reluctantly earthbound.
Then like fallen soldiers, they drop without a sound.

The trees stand naked with their clothes below,
Now the dancing leaves wait for the next wind to blow.
Children will come in to roll in the leaves... to laugh and play.
The leaves will go out in their glory, before Winter rolls in to stay.

Thank you Daniel. I guess we all remember playing in the leaves when we were kids :)
