Leave me, don't let go

A beaches sand of tears
Weeps the tide of my heart
Harrowed, choking breaths
It comes for me again

Made of shadow
Squeezing radiant beneath my ribs
Heavier than the floor
Locked in my cage

Both prisoner and jailer
Fumbling with the key
Leave me, but don’t let me go
Crying mercy
