Leave Me Alone
I’m a dark, lonely night
With no hope in sight
As I sigh, “Leave me alone”
Tears streaming a path
With only fear to say,
“Leave me alone” …
Melancholy is my way
Still, I fail to pray
Just, “Leave me alone”
It is whispered on her breathe
Like a chorus alive with anguish
Panic raising a mist on the air
Just “Leave me alone”!
It is painted in hues of depression
Shadows of dread and gloom
Rich with dismal impressions
Falling on lives like a miserable storm
Who blocks out the moon and stars
Peppering hearts with pure horror
Screaming through the silence,
Just “Leave me alone”
I’m a trepidation so disquieting
I silence the birds and the wind
The leaves seem to listen
To the echo of my discouragement
Sending out a flow of anxiety
Anger, disgust, awful lies
Creeping through the night
Like monsters on the devil’s wings
Giants of murky shame
Faded into the stone cold hearts
Of those who know
The words to block out love
Just “Leave me alone”
Souls starving for affection
Inspiration, grace and joy
Linger on the edge of those words
Falling through the despair
Raising up yearnings for more
Yet there you are, with her
Saying the unthinkable
Just “Leave me alone”!!!
It’s like a fallen world
Cutting away the love
That once brought light
Into the chill of a dark night
Despite those words of hers
Just “LEAVE ME ALONE”!
