Learning You

Slowly, I have learned you The shape of your mouth, the color of your eyes I do not doubt what I see in them, Such kindness, such adoration, I am afraid of that, That kindling feeling of love, So fresh, so tender, so fleeting, Many have stood in your shoes, Never so kind, never so gentle, There is no harshness to fall from your angelic lips, There is no flinching when you touch me, No feeling of disgust when my lips touch yours, It is a strange peace you bring me, Ocean blue staring into an abyss, You are kind, you are gentle, And yet every touch still burns me, For I know, that I will continue to learn you, And one day, no longer will I be learning, Instead I will only be observing, through a small window neither of us can see through, For this feeling always leaves, Like an endless tide along a dying beach, For you will know me, And no longer will I be beautiful
