Learning To Respect Boundaries

Those lines in life called boundaries
		are necessary. They're in place
		to help maintain relationships.
We must not cross them--but embrace

each one to show that we respect
the one who placed it in our path,
for when we cross those lines, we may
		incur a friend's or loved one's wrath.

		Some blessed with close relationships,
		good marriages, or sweet romance
		destroy those ties by crossing lines;
so many get no second chance.

		       **********************

		Some fires we set unwittingly
we can't put out--so high they rise!
When we crash through those boundaries,
we may be left with smoke and sighs.

An exceptionally fine write. Boundaries in relationships certainly help to define our many interactions with a myriad of folk. Congratulations on your win! Cheers Brian

gosh, you really saw this challenge differently than I did. My mind did not even go to boundaries. Then again, it has not gone much to anywhere with this strange concept. I really like where you took it!

Thank you, Andrea. When I saw "Embrace the Line(s)," I immediately thought of the expression "Cross the Line." Janice
