Lazy Girl

When I said my first words…

They were excited.

They knew I was working hard to learn.

Now, my vocabulary has expanded.

But I found myself understanding less and less, somehow.

And everyone caring less and less about what I had to say.

They taught me words.

And sentences.

But there is some secret language that they decided to keep from me.

These days, I’m too lazy to try and learn.

And they are too cruel to try and understand.
