Lazy Day

Warm sheets, and covered feet Scared to move For the heat could instantly fleet Droopy eyes, and sour breath A new day Another tomorrow But perhaps I'll stay in bed a little bit longer Muscles ache, and time continues to tick But somehow laying in bed makes it all slow down Time stops And energy is restored So now I can be the person I was before The alarm clock screeches The ceiling fan buzzes The dog barks a symphony but I won't budge Simply just waiting for the sun to fall For a new day Another tomorrow And maybe this time I won’t want to stay in bed a little bit longer And the screeching alarm will stop And the ceiling fan will end its endless spin And the house will fall quiet And I’m now ready to start a new day Another tomorrow And a more interesting chapter
