Layla and Majnun

Flower of love bloomed in dunes of desert
Besotted Layla carried in niche of her heart
It withered in the tribal Arabian harsh summer
Unrequited virgin love went to the grave with her.

Deranged Majnun wandered in love’s wasteland
Etched the requiem of broken heart on desert sand
With the parched wind before his last breath was gone
He became hers, his poem engraved on her gravestone.

Your lovely story of these starcrossed loves...never lovers, is so sad Subimal. Poetically related brilliantly with your talented pen. Congratulations on your win! : )
