I heard the laughter of a child: and upon hearing it, I smiled. At first, that laugh delighted me; for it triggered a memory. And upon hearing it, I smiled: for it sounded just like my boy, playing with his favorite toy. At first, that laugh delighted me, sounding musical to my ears: and yet my smile soon turned to tears. For it triggered a memory of my son's passing, long ago; that haunts me wherever I go.
