I heard the laughter of a child; the instant I heard it, I smiled. At first, that laugh delighted me; for it triggered a memory. The instant I heard it, I smiled it seemed so cheerful, like my boy playing with his favorite toy. At first, that laugh delighted me, sounding like music to my ears; and brought a smile, that turned to tears. For it triggered a memory; my son died a long time ago; and it took me years to let go.
