Laughter

In a room so filled with tension
No one would even dare mention
For there is no room for error
And everyone is only sensing terror

Some are intent on following
But most are really just wallowing
And soon it will be over and done
But for now it has only just begun

Yet in the distance just off to the side
But by no means trying to hide
Came a loud shrill of laughter
Unceremoniously bouncing off of every single rafter

And as everyone finally looked up and then around
This laughter soon became a very infectious sound
So soon everyone around began to join in
In turn giving sanity yet another win

So remember this side of you
And remember it in whatever you do
So on those cold and dark days ahead
It will be your laughter they hear instead
