Lattice of a Bridge
Far, far way you've gone beyond worlds
that divided us in a time I cannot shape or mold--
just shadows, just shadows of you that now
visions barely see the pewter breeze combing
your fibrous-winter hair: O like so,
I weep, I linger at the eyes my essence
knows so well….they are but hazy tones
disappearing from our longing gaze
shared along a bridge covered
by the old lattice of trusses and boughs:
And I dream of you with an affection more
golden than Snow's moonlight craving
for timber of reveries and fables that
hold our secrets telling us about love’s forlorn
destiny…yet this heart keeps us near, grasping
a pain not too tight on a hundred- meter stretch
until you passed the border without me.
Alone for a walk, I know you're just breathing,
lounging, curling right by my side..all the while.
