Lately

Lately I've been thinking of you less and less.

Further away from the memories we shared for so long,
lately the sun shines through the dark clouds
that guided my direction
For so long. Lately ive been remembering the chains that held me captive for so long,
Lately I think of running toward you less and less,
and standing against you as a soldier of war.
Lately, death becoming life.
As the days go by and time surely flies,
the farther from you my desires reside.

Lately my dreams are no longer consumed
with the nightmares you left me alone to endure,
enslaved to a love song
that was nothing more than a figment
of my imagination.

Lately you no longer hold my admiration,
seemingly trapped in a mirror
that is forever shattered.

I've been thinking of you less and less.

Lately, the chains that once held me captive
have been set free.
