Lately
Hustle guided by unseen forces,
Linking me with like minds,
Dollar signs fill my headspace,
Overthinking the next grind’s designs.
Patient while cents can’t buy slippers,
Gripping heavy loads with hands missing fingers,
On painful days, we’re out and ready,
Empire building, slow but steady,
Even when my chest feels heavy.
If the weight on my chest
Is a rock from a gold mine,
Tell Endurance I’ve passed the test,
Let the gold I’ve acquired attest.
I know endurance, but around Hawkins I’m just talkin’,
Till he gives the strategist a plan,
Pulling gold nuggets like magnets,
That’s my marketplace, dollar and rand by rand,
Hustler as I am, I built my empire grand
