Late

The day we first met,
I knew you were the best,
You stole my heart,
And made me forget about all the rest.

As time passed on,
Our love rapidly has grown,
And after twenty years and a child,
Our love still remains strong.

It’s been a wild ride,
And for some reason,
From us I tried to hide,
But, you always remained kind and understanding,
As you chose to stand by my side.

For my life, I’m in your debt,
Even though this liability is great,
I vow I will repay it,
Before the refer to me as,
“The Late”
