oh, sad for the tree, but hopefully good for the relationship, Carolyn, this makes a smile because of love, enjoyed reading it

I know this will be relatable to so many. My husband and I visited Kauai at the mini grand canyon and there is a tree over looking the canyon we carved our initials in. It was my fortieth birthday. We have not returned but will one day. I loved your heartwarming haiku. Congratulations on your win. : ) xxoo

This is awesome, Carolyn. Love this one. This instantly reminded me of my poem "Martha" when I went camping and met a young girl and carved our initials in the tree. Forty years later I went back and the tree was still there! Congratulations on your win. Charlie xo

A lovely tribute to everlasting love, Carolyn. There are instances when the initials on the tree trunk last much longer than the relationship itself! Hugs // paul

This is one that takes you back to younger days when a boy would carve your initials into a tree. You go back years later when you have both moved on and the carving is still there reminding you of younger sweeter days. Congrats and luck in the contest. God Bless, JB

This hits the jackpot for me, Carolyn. Can't think of many love affairs that'll outlast BB and CB's on that tree! A bullseye to the contest's target, methinks. Best wishes, Gershon
