Last Words For This World

* my peace will be found
                                                     in your embrace
                             as stardust trail tears
                                                           streak your face
                          whereon my longing
                                                       will at last be quelled
                         where upon your flesh
                                                        my name is spelled
                             when I am returned
                                                      unto your womb
                                    my maker my lover
                                            my home my tomb

This is such a gorgeous poem, Maureen. "...where upon your flesh my name is spelled..." That line resonates and reverberates with me, a man. All the more so must it with every child-bearing woman who reads it. Bravo! Excellent! Congrats on your win in the contest. Best wishes, Gershon

Ha, thank you so much Curtis! I'm glad it looks like such little effort; I can spend hours on a single word, then days moving it from side to side ;) I really did try to make it longer, but I had found all my perfect words. Love and hugs! xomo

Most of the list-toppers were much longer than yours, Mo, but here is a great example of why that means very little when it comes down to superb poetry, as it is exquisitely constructed, and is like an arrow through the heart. You are a master of not wasting words, and I can only aspire to such. Witty, intelligent, and breathtakingly beautiful! Congratulations on your SECOND PLACE in the 'My Muse, Mortal' Poetry Contest, Dear Mo - blessings, my friend! :-)

Thank you so much Greg! I was hoping depth would compensate for length, I tried to make it longer but my muse refused, and I was pleased with it, we can't sacrifice our art now can we ;) then when it begged for form... I had to oblige. I'm thrilled that it made an impression. Thank you again, for the prompt and the win, xomo! <3
