Last Words

One day, the Curtain will fall
Upon some, upon one, upon all
The time comes when the Messenger’s Call
Would be answered by the Short and the Tall
Some would lead while others follow
A time comes when all seems empty and hollow
When we are compelled to swallow
Our pride and reveal our sorrow
Last words would be said
Accompanied with tear-soaked eyes of red
Names in print: some in ink, others in lead
Earth becomes our permanent bed
What would they be – their “last words”?
Would memories of you bring peace or draw swords?
