Last Train Ride

My life before today did not end
I forgot about writing a letter to send,
Maybe you have not seen me for awhile
But I’m traveling now, for many a mile.

A call that parted the clouds echoed thru
Hard to say but I meant to tell you
No time to pack and board the train
Last ride I take on the Boston and Maine.

No fare to pay no stops to make
One way ticket I had to take
There are no rails to travel upon
This train will take me to the station, a new life born
