Last Time

Last Time Those little arms reached up to be held Last time a friendship felt a strong weld A last glance, a laugh with a precious loved one A last time, "Not now." to play catch with a son. That hug to a sister, waves as we drove 'way A last sunset, of gold, on that last dying day And what would we swear if we knew that last hope That was met with a "Not now" was only a "Nope!" To forever, and ever, with no turning back A memory vanquished of song on life's track. Family, neighbors, comrades or friend That chance for a 'Do lunch sometime!" has an end. The world is filled with noise and the climb And solitaire games, and the wasting of time The moments are passing, they're passing away Carpe diem, oh, my heart, seize the day <3

Amazingly beautiful BJ. Every line so true, every line an innuendo of regret, every line a warning "what if?" This poem is really sublime. Than you for commenting on a piece l wrote, "what if " you hadn't, l would have never discovered your poems. Thank you.

Precious sentiments in profusion dear BJ. Time flies fast before we come to realize it. So make the best use of the time we get on earth and make life meaningful. It may be our last chance. Your passionate appeal and your sincere tone touch the heart deeply.

Yes, sweet Valsa, time flies too quickly. While I wrote this poem several of my children had gone on a trip and were seizing the day, making joyful memories. I am glad they are now home, and though battling colds because they were actually celebrating snow...I am seizing the day they are back home. Time for some chicken soup for them, but I gratefully will celebrate this day. I missed them while they were gone! I'm glad that they were enjoying life, I never want them to stop feeling the joy of adventure and companionship! :) Carpe diem :) May you be blessed today my friend <3

Thank you Gershon :) Time is simply flying, it is hard to seize the day sometimes, apathy sometimes gets the best of us, but there's no time for that! Carpe Diem! :)

We are born until the end. In between, we must in a good way enjoy what the Creator has given us.

Yes, very true, just a small window in time for us to live in this sphere, we need to embrace these precious fleeting moments, and those the Lord has put in our paths of life. I hope your week ahead is filled with all that is good Victor, thank you for your visit and comment. I always appreciate you :)

Yes, time here is limited, and sometimes we think we have all the time in the world, but we don't. Life is a vapor. I hope your weekend has been blessed and filled with happy memories and much love, and your week ahead filled to the brim with all that is good :) <3

Thank you Sotto, I awoke with the muse of this poem on my heart Saturday morning. So many memories of my children, all grown up now; joy in memory, but regret for some of those moments of "Not right now..." and those opportunities were missed. I was in a play once, called 'Our Town' by Thornton Wilder, and played the part of Emily Webb. The play left a deep impression on me. Thornton Wilder spoke volumes to me through that play, and the essence he tried to convey still comes back to me, especially after a loss of a loved one. The essence was to notice one another in our lives because time and life move so quickly. Thank you for your visit, I'm blessed with your uplifting comment. Blessings to you as well.
