Last Thoughts
The time is close- the crossroad to my death-
dear God, so short the time to quantify,
before I leave this world with my last breath,
the good my journey brought to fortify
a life worth-lived, and aptly justify
I've loved and helped my family and friends,
and when I've wronged, did offer my amends;
as best I could- I followed your commands.
Oh, God, if not, please now my soul, do cleanse,
and carry it to Heaven in your hands.
