When you're used to falling In love with book characters, You get used to the fact That the beautiful boy with the Dark, burning eyes... Is not for you. Pretend he's yours for A few scenes, But you will have to Give him back... He's already been written Into a love story that Will never include you- He's already found His heroine, And it's not you. It will never be you... If it makes you happy, You can pretend. Pretend you are her, Pretend that he could Be yours... Pretending is fine; You'll be okay if you Just remember that words Don't become true just Because you read them Out loud- Forever and always Only lasts until the last page... And there is always a last page. Don't let your heart break Over the last page- I'm used to last pages, But he is the last page Of a book I don't want To close... I want to keep him Close... But he needs to go Back to his story... I guess I need To go back To mine.
