In her slippers danced two feet As bandaged toes and blisters Satin pink - with ribbons, laced Once prized by both her sisters Tried-n-true they saw her thru The grandest of those years And now they stay beside her As a dancing angel ... nears.

Ha! Perhaps ... in spirit, (she just got married again), though I wasn't thinking that at the time. Interesting you said that, though, our subconscious often does the steering. Thanks for commenting - I thought this was a beautiful little verse, but not a single comment until yours, (46 hits - not good percentages). Blessings, my friend! :o)
