Moonlight is my favored language
It shades aglow,
Though cold night etches wilted boughs
Raking the muddied fields--
Lean willows change into argent gold:
In dripping furrows of hollowness
Fragile seed stalks
Glimmer against pale weeds
As tassels of orb’s voile thread
Embellish autumn’s mourning grass.
This is moonlight, yellowing the eve
Across the stark open... I am alone
Yet my essence is alive --
Beams speaking to me about quietus and vivacity
As a crescent trace draws the flash of radiance,
That inner poise embraces new worlds.

This poem attempts to impart a symbolic voice
to the beauty of the moment and man's need for contentment
despite the seemingly grim landscape of a season. Hence,
word choices, poetic devices allow the poet to connect
with the reader and stir his/her emotion in a memorable way.
