Language Labor-A-Story

A language that tied me in knots was Chinese
  Oh, and another tongue-twister was Japanese

But the toughest of them all was Vietnamese
  ~ Until I got waylaid by American knees

Having lived in SF..and taught school there.. The kids would crack up at how I mispronounced last names, Oy Pangie Between Chicago schools and SF , is there any nationalities I have not taught?

I have a friend who grew up in Singapore and learned several Asian languages. He is of Scandinavian heritage. Always fun when we went to an Asian restaurant and he would speak the language. The looks of surprise were priceless. Not sure how that relates to your neat little poem.

Then again, I was once behind a Japanese fellow at a Dunkin Donut. He was trying to order a 'French Cruller.' After I stopped laughing, I helped him out... Of course, I draw my share of laughs making 'birthday toasts' in Russian. (My wife's family is from Ukraine). Cheers, gw

Too cute Gershon. My dad was in the U.S. Airforce for 27yrs. Went through WWII and the Korean War and had medals all over his chest. Went around the world 7 times and spoke several languages. Two of which were Chinese and Japanese. God Bless, JB
