Language Is a Puzzle
Language Is A Puzzle
Fit the words together
As best you can
So that they come as close
As they possibly can
To forming what seems to be
A whole
Then you begin verbal charades
You are the actor
And everyone else has to guess
What you are trying to project -
Your thoughts and feelings -
With only your pieced together,
Mostly complete,
Verbal Puzzle
To guide them
Don't underestimate
The difficulty of the game
People come close
But very few can understand
The puzzle that is you
Then it is their turn
One by one they piece
Their own verbal puzzle together
And present it
To you
And if, by chance,
You can feel past their words
And know what feeling
Their words are hinting at
You better keep them around
Because the jumble of their words
And yours -
Nouns, verbs, and most importantly Adjectives (because in this case every word is an adjective, isn't it?)-
Only make sense to the two of you
Combine all of your words -
Only shells and shadows
Of who you each are
No matter what the letters,
Language, or accent
No matter how big or how small,
How many or few,
Or what order they're in
Your words will amount to
Love, an adjective for...
