Land of the Pharaohs
As I lazily walked near the Great Pyramid of Giza,
fantasies of how three thousand years ago was in Egypt,
fill my mind; lords from as far places as China bringing gifts
to the royal palace; golden hieroglyphs emanating a blinding glow on pillars and palaces; the air smelling sweet and fresh of perfume and fresh harvest from the Nile banks; children playing around the Sphinx.......
I could also see a couple holding each other, in a romantic embrace,
as they gazed on the clear, night sky; papyrus hiding them from unexpected sight. Scribes, I imagined, writing down the history of their nation, under the shade of palm trees......
That's why I lazily walked; I didn't want to leave this land. It's rich and romantic history had become part of me, like I was having a deja vu .....
