Land of Make Believe

I'm up all day
can't sleep at night
maybe I'm wrong
or maybe I'm right
I'm seeking truth
but all I can find
are only the truths
that are in my mind.
Is it all real
or is it all lies?
I guess in the end
it's what everyone buys.
Is there hope at all
because I can't see
is there hope for you
is there hope for me?
The world's in a spin
when will it end
who is a foe
and who is a friend?
The voices all say
the things that they must
but are these voices
ones I can trust?
The words that they say
I hear in my brain
are they for real
or am I insane?
'Cause I'm hearing things
that never were said
who killed the truth
who wanted it dead?
I guess in the end
it's what you conceive
about what is truth
and what's make believe.

Sometimes it seems like the truth is so far away when in reality it lies within us. You are so talented, that is the truth, a gift that lives inside of you and gives you the strength to overcome. You write with so much heart and passion your readers know they will encounter something beautiful within themselves just from your words. Keep writing and many will be reading. Smiles from Lolita

Robin, someone once told me "hope springs eternal." I can feel your pain in these words, but I continue to pray for a light at the end of your tunnel. Love, Carolyn

Wow, Powerful write..You poured out your soul and asked some important questions here...I know what it is like to have heard so many lies you honestly don't know what the truth is.I feel that the truth is something that will set you free but it can also make you face some earth shattering revelations that some are not ready to face so they choose to make believe. There are many reasons why lies may come about but ask God for the strength to forgive those that have misled you.God Bless*Tyesha

Excellent, book worthy, truth is situational, experiencal, cultural, don't look for it to be more than that and you won't be disappointed

I hear this one, Ik think we can all relate. Ultimatly, there is only one truth, and the point of the journey, is the journey to it - it will come, with love, persistance, and faith, how could it not? Love, Kristin

Chris, I like your interpretation of "Make Believe" as it gives me a different view of this poem but I am actually trying to decipher the truth from lies in things I have heard in my life. RG

Well if that isn't the truth I don't know what is, referring to those last few lines. Great write and the short lines work well to emphasize your message. Robin, you are such an awesome poetess and thoughtful person. I cannot thank you enough for your constant support. It means more to me than you'll ever know. Love & hugs, Shar xoxo

I feel this is coming deep from your heart dear Robin. I hope you can find the answers and feel peace, after sorting it all out. Trust yourself, your own intuition. If this is is your struggle, believe in yourself first. Best wishes..love Carrie

That is so true my friend..sometimes the truth gets blurred in all this nonsense making it difficult to decipher reality from fiction. Love this cool write. Chris.
