Land Mines

Be beware of some people" they're like land minds and land minds never lie they wait patiently they wish to mince the future blow hope into thin air. Bones streaking above earth like dirty runaway stars souls fleeing from burning fields ashes becoming lavender echoes silky memories sprouting scars. The next generation blindly racing to the edge of the siren's glade where there is a sign "land mines never lie" and dreams wither in the shade".

Some of the injuries associated with land mines are horrific, Anthony. Late actress Audrey Hepburn led a campaign to outlaw land mines. Your description of the damage they cause is especially strong in the second verse. A powerful poem that needs to be read.

Our next generation will be paying for our colossal mistakes and we must be aware of what we are burdening them with. Excellent Anthony! : )
