Lament for love

Hail to thee who walked before me.
Down the broken road alone.
The heart wants what it cannot have,
how often is that not the cruel irony
Love that hurts so much
and yet keeps you in that hope,
that the dream that should be forgotten,
can be achieved,
Loving hard and from afar
watching and yet knowing it cannot be

Hail to thee who went before,
on the road of suffering and sorrows,
strong in spirit though you are.
To fight for a love that is beyond the stars. Does the road ever end in the embrace of the one you seek?
Or does it always end heartbroken
and dying in the widows keep?
