Lament

Silently,
reverently, I walk through the fall leaves
and in each leaf I see a dream
that will never come to be
    softly falling to the ground
are my dreams of not so long ago
there is nothing of them to be found
a slight breeze stirs the leaves in the path
       stirring up my emotions,
       my sorrow, my wrath
and in the rustling of each leaf
      another fallen dream
       gives birth to grief
there is nowhere left for me to go
      nothing left to dream
      nothing left to grow
for the ground I till is barren and still
     like a garden in fall
       the land harsh and shrill
No child will ever grow in my womb
     the knowledge does nothing but
        deepen my gloom
For a lifelong dream I cry and grieve
       as silently, reverently
I walk through the fall leaves.

Very sad poem. I'm not sure your thoughts should dwell here. So many unwanted children in the world to love. You have let it out.Let it go & go on giving your special love to all. Light & Love Debbie Guzzi
