Notes About The Poem

I visited the Lafayette's tomb in Paris in November 2015, while in France for a job interview.  I was moved.

Lafayette

Gilbert du Motier, La Marquis de Lafayette--
A hero American patriots should not forget.
He helped us win the Revolutionary War.
In Paris, rests 'neath American soil ever more.
