Lady luck she'll steal your soul
She'll cure the heartache and she'll ease the pain
She'll put you on a level with the devil
But you'll pay to pass this way again

I swam a river o' whiskey an' I didn't drown
Tried to beat the Devil at his own game
Love's passed me by but it'll burn again
