I wish I could rhyme
promise you I've got rhythm
just not in my poems

Wilma,, Stopping by to greet you and every other soup poet, with a special thank you comment, during this wonderful Thanksgiving season. Hope you do not mind the time I am taking to express my sincere appreciation for any support you have offered during the years, or time you have been here on the soup. I am deeply thankful and extend to you my best wishes for a happy and healthy Poetic Magical Thanksgiving Day. *Always & Forever, the Poet Destroyer; -*

Rhyming poems are in the minority these days. I can relate your point of view in this work

Ahh-- I really don't doubt that you got rhythm, missy! You and I have the same problem with rhymes, ever the elusive ones, eh? And oh shucks, you made me smile with your last comment-- I will wait for the pics! I think I will start calling you the rainbow chaser missy! :D Mwahugs!! Thanks for taking a pic of them, I haven't seen a real one for quite some time now...

Well Wilma, I'mfinding this free verse has its meerits tooo and have been giving ita whirl. It sort of frees you in some ways but I find rhyme is a discipline that defines what is written. So both have their good points fo rexpression and you always do a wonderful jobwith yours! I think you are sleeping now, sweet dreams, Love,Lizzie

To rhyme isn't for everyone, Wilma. I'll use it often just as an achor to fasten myself down to earth. You do super well without it! Best wishes, Mikki

I'm with you, Wilma. I'm lousy at rhyming stuff. Some are naturals, not this kid. How about Robert Frost? he seldom rhymed. Love, daver

But, oh Wilma, you don't need any rhyme! Your rhythm takes care of any need for rhyme, trust me it does! What you want to say takes precedent over rhyme! And what you say is truly phenomenal my friend! This poem is awesome Wilma, Great Work!!

Why would you want to? You've got good style as is. Please keep in mind rhyming is very restrictive, especially in terms of vocabulary. Often my poems take a different course than initially planned because of one word that eludes. Some rhyme; others don't. You have no need. Keep 'em coming in your own unique style, Homegirl. I enjoy your writing tremendously. :)
