Labyrinth
Stars entwining,
Warmth declining.
This silvery dream melts
Into luscious, abiding reality.
Then you whisper away and I am left
With an empty bed.
Ghost-thoughts cling,
Silent memories manifest, gently.
And then roughly we tumble into
A never-sought world of tomorrow,
And now we are seeking – seeking – seeking –
For a way to survive.
Your distance is your strength,
And mine.
We aren’t lost – we are wandering
Through a labyrinth of the future, unknown, undiscovered.
There is cold and light and dark and heat
Twisting together all into one moment
Tearing at me soothing me reawakening me
And all I can do is wait. And wonder
What tomorrow will bring.
