Labyrinth
The labyrinth continues to confuse those
of simple mind leading them
deeper into the land of the blind
Sightless they stumble into the walls
of the maze with no concept
of time dizzy & in a haze
Reliving their days of glory has them stuck
in a simulation replaying the
same story on the same station
What was & what could have been are
constant thoughts in the mind
of the past they live in
Stagnation set in long ago while they
stayed stuck in a perpetual past
that passed them by
without them being in the know
Who knew it was time to move on
& continue to grow
before the chance to evolve was
all but gone like
leaves in the wind when it blows
Besides them only the lord knows how
it feels inside when those invisible walls
close in to collide with
them in the middle
At the point of impact they realize life
is a riddle with many
answers written on its walls
& they like us all have been played
like a fiddle
